San Antonio Zoo's Emergency Fund Campaign

Frank Ruttenberg's Zoo Support Team

Like so many other businesses the San Antonio Zoo has been temporarily closed to facilitate social distancing. We are in a somewhat unique situation with our Zoo. We are one of the few large zoos in the nation that receives very little assistance from the government. Over 95% of our budget historically comes from our ticket sales and donor contributions.

While others may be able to dramatically scale back expense, we continue to take all of those steps necessary to assure that our animal ambassadors receive the same care, attention and enrichment we have always provided. We are also maintaining our conservation programs which have been years in the making, to secure a future for wildlife.

So, this closure, while necessary impacts our Zoo in ways that other non-profits are not.

Please join me and donate to San Antonio Zoo emergency Fund to assist in the care of our animals and team members during this temporary closure. We are in need of your donations now more than ever!

Frank Z. Ruttenberg –

Chairman of the Board of the San Antonio Zoological Society
